RodFest 2010 at The Paradise Boston
The Paradise, for over 25 years, has been committed to great music by bringing to the stage some of music’s hottest up and coming artists. Just about every major act who comes through Boston plays the Paradise; U2, AC/DC, REM, Coldplay, The Police, Phish and Lenny Kravitz to name a few.
As the Paradise’s website states: “Come experience the 25 year, Rock and Roll legacy that is the Paradise Rock Club. Maybe someday you will be saying “I was there when (insert band name here) played the Dise!”
RODFEST 8 will feature:
The “Rod” Carpet, a place where you are the star. Be prepared to get your picture taken by the Rodfest Paparazzi on the “Rod” carpet, plus there will be Rodfest raffles and gear as usual, to help you get your groove on and help you rock out to the music. The night kicks off at 8pm with the return of Rodfest “Acoustic Showcase”! The full line up is as follows:
DEATH & THE DANCE MACHINE: This will feature another one of Greg’s former band mates and high school friends, Tom Jewett. As a Boston based indie rock quartet with a jazz streak in their blood, Death and the Dance Machine has a propensity to leg kick. DDM is a bonanza, and their music is multi directional. Joe & Matt have carnivorous moustaches, while Tom, James & Dan try not to stare.
SAM REID & THE RIOT ACT: Flatpickin’ acoustic bluegrass lead guitar, 3-part harmonies and fiery Irish fiddle tunes anchored by left-handed electric bass and driving drums.www.myspace.com/sreidandtheriotact
KEV + COL: Kevin, a former band mate of Greg from Scituate, and his buddy Colin got their start writing music while working as bus boys/evening entertainers for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Unfortunately their employment was abruptly terminated when the ship capsized during a very windy hurricane. Eventually they were rescued by pirates.
CHATHAM SESSIONS: Stonehill ‘04 Alumni, Bob Woods & Pietro Panza began jamming in their dorm back in their Stonehill College days. What started as a couple of musicians killing time between classes, soon turned into campfire concerts, late night party jam sessions and weekly concerts. This guitar duo has since taken their grassroots following on the road and now plays venues up and down the South Shore and throughout Boston.
